Its been a few months full of beautiful little baby boys, must be something in the water in South Wales.
A few weeks ago this little chap visited me in the studio with his mum and dad for his first portrait session.
And I thought for this blog post I would write about what I love to use in all my images, texture and tone as I think it makes a photograph into something more.
Photographing baby boys is very different from little girls, with girls I can use all my pretty little hair bands and gorgeous light colours and textures. But for a little boy I always go towards those gorgeous earth tones and textures that I love to use just to add interest and to make a photograph of a gorgeous little baby boy into something a bit different.
I love the above image as its full of texture with real dyes sheep wool at the base of the bowl from one of my favourite suppliers based in wale, Cwtchi Coo.
The image below is one of my favourites with the different shades of greens and how comfortable does he look in by rice bucket, with lots of soft blankets to make sure as always that the baby is supported in any prop that I use.
